More than 60 percent of children in the United States were exposed to
violence in the past year, according to a new study by the U.S. Department
of Justice (DOJ), in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and

The Georgetown University Center for Child and Human Development (GUCCHD) is pleased to announce the release of its new report titled, "What Works? A Study of Effective Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Programs." Through in-depth site visits to six consultation programs with demonstrated positive outcomes, this report explores the critical question: What are the essential components of effective mental health consultation programs? The Academy on Violence and Abuse released a recent white paper called Hidden Costs in Health Care the Economic Impact of Violence and Abuse. The document makes the case that policy makers have a pressing economic as well as a moral and humanitarian interest in preventing violence and abuse.
