ENCYCLOPEDIA ON EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

The Centres of Excellence for Children’s Well-Being has published an Encyclopedia on Early Childhood Development.  It’s available free of charge. It covers 33 topics related to the psychosocial development of the child, from conception to the age of five, and presents the most up-to-date scientific knowledge.

Period of PURPLE Crying: Preventing Shaken Baby Syndrome and Other Infant Abuse

The National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome announces the release of a new version of the parent education program, Period of Purple Crying, a new understanding of early crying.  The program helps parents and caregivers understand the frustrating crying in normal infants that can lead to shaking or abuse.
